Aqidah, Sharia, and Morals
Ven Devenisi Aqidah: according to Arabic (etymology) comes from the word al-‘aqdu which means bond, at-tautsiiqu which means strong belief or belief, and ar-rabthu biquw-wah which means binding strongly. Whereas according to the term (terminology): ‘aqeedah is a firm and firm faith, which has no doubt whatsoever for those who believe in it.
Ariah Sharia Devenisi: Etymologically sharia means rules or provisions that Allah commands to His servants, such as: fasting, prayer, pilgrimage, zakat and all virtues. Shari'a in terms of syar'i are the laws of Allah which are directed to His servants, both the laws of the Qur'an and the sunnah of the Prophet from words, deeds and stipulations.
Ven Devenisi akhlaq: Akhla comes from Arabic, i.e. jama 'from the word "khuluq" (خلوق) in a language this word means temperament or which includes: attitude, behavior, courtesy, tabi'at, ethics, character, personality, moral etc. According to the term, moral means outward behavior that is done by someone spontaneously as a manifestation or reflection, a reflection of a person's soul, mind or heart.
Linkages Between Aqidah, Sharia, and Morals
• Relations between aqeedah and Shari'a
Aqidah and Shari'at are inseparable entities. As is well known that faith includes faith and practice. This belief is called 'aqeedah, and this practice is called shari'at. So that faith includes' aqeedah and shari'at, because it is indeed faith, if it is mentioned absolutely (alone) then it includes belief and practice.
• Relations of Aqeedah with Morals
To see the strength or weakness of faith can be known through the behavior (morals) of a person, because the behavior is a manifestation of the faith that is in the heart. If his actions are good, a sign that he has strong faith; and if the deed is bad, it can be said that he has a weak faith. Muhammad al-Gazali said, strong faith manifests good and noble morals, while weak faith manifests bad morals.
• Sharia and moral relationships
sharia functions as a way that will lead someone to the perfection of morality. Whereas morality is the values of virtue that can lead one towards achieving perfection of faith. Whereas in Islam between sharia and morality are two things that are closely related, where one (ie Shari'a) becomes the basis of the second (akhlaq).
